Then
Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe. She saw the basket among
the reeds and sent a girl to get it. She opened it and saw the baby. He was
crying, and she felt sorry for him.
His
sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go get a woman to care for the
baby?”
“Yes, go,”
she answered. And Miriam went and got the baby’s mother.
When he
was older, Pharaoh’s daughter took him to be her own son. She named him
Moses.
